Activ Doctors Online provides 50,000 No-Cost Personal Health Record (PHR) memberships to Collective Empowerment Group of South Florida

News

(Miami, FL) – Activ Doctors Online announces today that it will provide 50,000 Personal Health Record (PHR) memberships to The Collective Empowerment Group (CEG) of South Florida , an organization representing 50 area churches. Formerly known as the Collective Banking Group of Miami-Dade County and Vicinity, CEG’s collection of churches represents thousands of individuals who are parents, students, business owners, homeowners, retirees and caregivers in the community.

“There is no better way to understand the value of being well prepared and taking control of your own personal health records than to experience it for yourself,” said Florent Monssoh, Founder and CEO of Activ Doctors Online. “We believe in giving back to people, and also want to raise awareness about PHRs. This is personal healthcare of the future – having 24/7 access to your entire medical history, care plans, tests – no matter where you are, whenever you need it.”

Through the partnership, CEG members can subscribe to Activ Doctors Online PHR service in 2011 at no cost. Thereafter, participants are eligible for discounted subscription rates. As part of a commitment to give back to the community, Activ Doctors Online will provide one million no cost memberships to non-profit organizations throughout the year. Activ Doctors Online PHR enables secure 24/7 access to health records, reduces medical errors and costs, and makes possible online second opinions in 48 hours from a global team of top specialty physicians.

“When I heard about Activ Doctors’ efforts to give away one million memberships, I wanted our organization to be among the first to be part of this movement to empower people to be in charge of their healthcare,” said Rev. Dr. R. Joaquin Willis, President of the CEG of South Florida. “I’m so passionate about this. Not only do I use Activ Doctors Online PHR and online second medical opinion personally, but I’ve witnessed countless examples within our congregation where if medical records were in a centralized place for providers and the patient to understand, it could have saved somebody’s life. That’s a powerful thing, and it fits with our mission of empowerment. The Activ Doctors Online Patient Health Record is the best available, and this tool will enable our community to do the right thing when it comes to healthcare.”.
