Miami Children’s Hospital Launches Partnership with ADO

News

Niklaus Children’s Hospital (formerly Miami Children’s Hospital) is renowned for excellence in pediatric medicine. NCH has over 650 attending physicians and over 130 pediatric sub-specialists and on January 12, 2015 launched a partnership with Activ Doctors Online: The iCare Program.

The iCARE Program’s mission is to provide parents/guardians 24/7 access to their child’s complete medical history to conveniently manage their medical information through an Online Personal Health Record. Personal Health Records enable individuals to control their health information and make better-informed decisions about their care. They are secure and encrypted, providing patients access to their entire medical history online – 24 hours a day (anytime, anywhere).

Features include:

  • Health History – A summary page to track previous and current conditions, surgeries, allergies, etc.
  • Health Tracker – Used to create charts that allow members to view certain vital signs like weight, height, cholesterol, blood pressure and calcium levels.
  • Documents – Include all original Physician Notes, Images, Lab reports, etc.
  • Reminders – Members can create reminders for doctor’s visits, medications & treatments by email

How does the program work?

The patient’s medical records generated during their hospital stay and necessary protocols (if applicable) are available to parents at discharge. The information is then organized into the patient’s Online Personal Health Record. Now the parent/guardian can more easily manage their child’s medical information.

Who is it for?

All Nicklaus Children’s Hospital patients.

What are the benefits to patient’s parent/guardians?

  • All medical information accumulated at Nicklaus Children’s is now available on laptop, tablets and mobile devices via mobile apps.
  • Medical Information is easily accessed and managed.
  • The Child’s Medical Summary is available with or without Internet service.
  • It’s a great tool when traveling. Blood type, allergies and medications are available by smart phone.
